Counsellor & Psychotherapist

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.”

”Carl Rogers”

Welcome to my website

As you are here, I wonder if you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed or depressed? Do you feel stuck or unsatisfied with your relationships or life?

It takes courage to decide to come to therapy, but if you can take that step, I can offer you a confidential, empathic and non-judgemental space where you can explore underlying thoughts, feelings and behaviours and make a positive change to your life.

Sometimes we need support to improve our lives, or to work to achieve our desires and goals. My role is to help you to see your situation more clearly and to understand your position in it. We can work together to achieve your therapy goals.

My Approach

I am an integrative practitioner. Integrative Psychotherapy is a belief in integrating yourself, and the various part of your personality, into a balanced and effective whole.

Integrative psychotherapy believes that the human psyche can be accessed and understood in different ways.

My approach is to bring together different elements of specific therapies to help my clients. I believe that there is no single approach that can treat every individual in all situations. I am able to be flexible to each person’s needs and our relationship will be vital to our work. I am particularly drawn to the humanistic approach of person-centred counselling, and the psychodynamic ideas of attachment based theory.

As a therapist, I am curious and create an empathetic, welcoming and non-judgemental space for you. I bring my total presence to our sessions to enable you to hear those parts of you that have not been heard at a deep level. My aim is to understand your feelings, thoughts and life story as deeply as possible from your viewpoint. For me to acknowledge where you have neglected needs, wishes or fears that may be holding you back. As I listen deeply and attentively. I can support you to explore your unconscious patterns and to discover how your past experience may have influenced your behavioural patterns. You will understand more clearly what causes you to feel challenged in life.

It is a core part of my practice to work collaboratively and the therapeutic relationship is at the centre of the healing process. Together, I would work with you to explore and integrate all the different aspects of yourself (mind, body, emotions, spirituality) and to create an environment to help you to begin to see the power within you clearly. The sense of stuckness you may bring to the therapy would begin to dissolve so you can start to see a way forward, to approach life with openness and success.

What happens next?

The research shows that the relationship between therapist and client is the key to achieving therapeutic goals. If you would like to arrange a free initial consultation, please phone or email me to discuss your needs. I can answer any questions you may have for me and we can see if I am right therapist for you. If you decide you would like to work with me, we will arrange a time and date to meet each week.

I offer a choice of brief therapy (usually between 6-18 sessions) or open-ended sessions in which we can explore, your emotional difficulties in more depth.

I am a registered BACP Member and I adhere to my Organisation’s code of ethics.
